I have been meaning to post this pixs for awhile, but I just downloaded them from my camera! At James' first b-day party the kids put on these b-days hats with the rubber strings. I put one on Carsten and he could not figure out where the weird sensation under his chin was coming from. I laughed and laughed until Karol made me take it off of him! Sorry Bubby, Aunt Meme had a good laugh at your expense!

I got suckered into co-hosting a Mary Kay party for my friend Alison. I was a little leary at first, but we had a great time! I am glad I co-hosted it!

Bird,
I hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday!
Andrew and I were so glad we got to spend it with you and your family!
We love you lots and hope to celebrate many more birthdays with you!
Always,
A&A

So I have dreams about Dolly Parton. I admit it. I think this is because she is my FAVORITE singer/song writer/ performer/ overall star personality.

Nine times out of ten when I listen to my iPOD I choose my Dolly play list. Why you ask? Because I know all of the songs and I like them!

Any who, last night I had a dream about her. My Mom, my brother, and I were at a Dolly concert. It was in a really nice small venue and I was in heaven.

After Dolly finished singing, this announcer guy came onto the stage and told everyone that we were all going to have a meet-and-greet with Dolly! I was BEYOND EXCITED.

For those of you who know me well, know that I have always said that I don’t think I would want to meet Dolly in real life because she is on a pedestal in my mind. And if I were to met her and she was having an off day or something and was mean to me, my whole world would be crushed.

So let’s go back to my dream. After the announcer said that we were going to have a meet-and-greet with Dolly, she came and sat down close to us while her area was being prepared for the meet-and-greet.

I was talking to my family when my Mom and brother said they would give me there meet-and-greet time so I would have THREE times as much time with Dolly.

I started clapping because I was excited and Dolly turned around and look at my square in the eyes and rolled her eyes and sighed really loudly. I was shocked!

She then turned around and said something rude to the person sitting next to her. Something like, I cannot deal with these types of people, don’t they have a life

I started crying and begging my Mom to take me home.

Of course you can imagine what kind of nightmare this was for me! I woke up from my dream with real tears in my eyes and I was crying!

I cannot believe she acted like that in my dream, AS IF. I know she would never do that to me in real life and I will never find out BECAUSE I am really never going to meet her now! What a nightmare!

Mysteriously, the apple stems and stickers have disappeared from the selection of daily fruit offered to me. I smell a conspiracy here :) However, I still glare at the water fountain everyday and think about how clean it is. I am a rebel!

Seems like time is flying by these days! Andrew and I have been super busy these past few weeks. Andrew has been getting into soccer (with Danyel's help ;) He really likes it and I kinda like it because it gives me some "Amy" time. We are going to Galveston for July 4th. I got a really good deal on a room at the Hotel Galvez. I think that minitrip should be fun! Then in September we are going to LAS VEGAS baby! I am excited to be going to Las Vegas, and even more excited that I will be there for my 30th b-day! YYIIPPEE! More to come on that later!

I believe God sends each of us a handful of true friends during our lifetime.

One of mine is moving away.

Tonight, our families went out to dinner. We had a great time and the thought of Mel Mel not actually being here in Houston did not hit me until we went to say goodbye for the evening.

In that instant, my heart broke into a million little pieces. I felt "the lump" grow in the back of my throat. That lump was the ONLY thing that held back the tears that swelled like waves behind my eyes.

I managed to look at the ground, at the tree in her yard, at anything besides Mel Mel to keep from crying. In my glances, I could tell that she had "the lump" too.

I held in the sadness as long as I could while saying our goodbyes. But as soon as I got into my car, much like a tsunami, the waves of my tears came crashing down. My emotions overcame me and I bawled like an inconsolable child all the way home.

Andrew tried to comfort me with his words and promises that we would go and visit often. I think at that moment in time, he would have promised me the world to make my tears stop.

But they didn't stop.

With each of his promises, I cried a little more.

While I am excited, happy, overjoyed, you name it for Mel Mel and her family, I am tremendously sad inside.

I am sad that I won't have her here physically beside me.

I am sad that I won't have a lunch/movie/bitch about everything date that is just a phone call away.

I am sad that I won't see Sweet Baby James grow up before my eyes.

I am sad that James might not remember me as Aunt MeMe.

Obviously, I am sad for a lot of reasons (all of which are extremely selfish!) but I am also happy for them for a lot of reasons. BUT damn it I am gonna miss them! I really am!

I wish them all of the best that this life has to offer. I wish them happiness and contentment in knowing that they are in the place they need to be and that they are back home.

I know what it is like to yearn to be back home. I don't think a day goes by that I don't wish I were back in Lubbock. Back where it feels like home.

Goodbye Britt family! Be safe. Be careful. Be happy. And remember that your Houston family loves you too!

This morning, I was walking into the building and this guy almost knocked me over, literally. I was just about to open the door and his happy ass walked right in front of me and just FLEW in. I was like, what the hell. I looked around to see if anyone else was around and there was no one. You know, it was kinda like when you park you car way far out in the parking lot and someone, some idiot, parks right next to. WHY? There are like 100 empty spaces all over the place, but OH NO, they park right next to you. You have to look around and wonder, what was this person thinking, or at least that is what I was thinking when this go-getter almost knocked me over. There are like six other doors he could have walked his little happy ass through, but OH NO he chose the one I was walking in. F*CKER.

My new toy :)

Someone asked me what my office looks like, so here are some pictures....

Just like the good ole' days! I wish I would have gotten a picture with Bubby, Mel, and James. Oh well! I was too busy gabbing!

What a time! Busy, busy, busy. I had something to do and/or someone one to see the WHOLE time Sparky was gone to FL.

Wednesday night-Sommer, Alison (with baby Emma), Cara, and I hung out over at my house. We ordered Mexican food, drank beer, and talked! It is also so nice to see the butterfly girls :)

Thursday night-Melody and I went to dinner at the Olive Garden. I realized how much I miss her! It has been a little over a month since I left that evil place, but I miss my Melo Shulsie :) She was great company!

Friday night-Sharon and I went to the new Studio Movie Grill (over off of Hwy 6). It was really cool. You buy your tickets and then you stand in this line. Then they let you in the theater and you order your food. Then the movie comes on, the food arrives, and you eat and watch the movie at the same time. Pretty cool! We saw the Divinci Code and it was also very very good!

Saturday-I got Carsten in the morning time. We had some errands to run, so we did those, he took a nap, and then we went to James' b-day party. We had a blast! I love being around Bubby! He is Aunt Meme's little Angel! I also got to catch-up with Karol, Lisa, and Mel.

Sunday-Cara and Danyel came to pick up Bubby Sunday morning :( Then I laid around the house and tried to take a nap and watch a movie. I did manage to watch Memoirs of a Geisha (very very good) and cook some fried rice (the fried rice is a Laffitte specialty). Sparky came home around 8-ish. He looked like something the cat drug in, but he still managed to stop at the store and buy me roses! Always a romantic. I would not touch him until he took a bath though :)

Sparky came home Monday night! I was so excited to see him. We had a nice evening catching up. He came to have lunch with me yesterday. I am so glad to have him home!

I have been talking about my OCD problems lately, so here is another OCD problem that affects me everyday.

A few months ago I saw a cat get hit by a car. It was very traumatic for me because I love animals and because it really pisses me off when people do not take care of their animals, but I digress.

So every day since that day, I have been obsessed with looking for animals on the side of the road, preferably LIVE animals that I can rescue.

At first, Andrew was cool about my new obsession to save all of the animals in the world.

NOW, after months of me screaming that I see an animal on the side of the road and it turning out to be trash or what have you, he is ANNOYED! I can see why he would be annoyed, because I am starting to get annoyed at my obsession!

Any who, the other day I was driving home from work on 529. For those of you that are not familiar with 529, 529 has six lanes (three lanes going each direction), so it is a very large road.

So I am driving down 529, and all of the sudden I see people swerving. My heart starts to skip a beat and I start to get upset. Then I started to see pink colored stuff all over the lanes.

I wanted to start crying because I just knew for sure it was an animal. Then I started to think that whatever animal it was, it must be a large animal because the pink stuff is all over the road. I made a quick decision in my mind that it was a horse. Yes, a horse.

As I get closer to the scene, I started to get more upset. I started yelling to myself, “WHY, WHY, WHY do people not take care of their pets?”

At that moment, I talk myself through the situation. I told myself that the animal is in a better place now, blah blah blah (Even though my Grandmother scared me for life when she told me as a small child that animals do not go to heaven because they do not have souls, but I digress).

Finally, as I approached the scene I said a little prayer to myself and closed my eyes. Obviously, since I was driving, I had to open my eyes back up and when I did guess what I saw?

It was not a horse, or a dog, or a large cat, or a person (heaven forbid).

The pink stuff all over the road was the guts of watermelons! YES, WATERMELONS! All over the road!

Someone had lost about a 100 watermelons and people were swerving so they didn’t run over these giant watermelons!

As I drove over the scene, I was relieved that it was not an animal and I thought to myself, what a pleasant smell that is coming through my car air vents. IT SMELLS LIKE WATERMELONS!

Just now, as I was walking to the kitchen at the office, I felt some butterflies in my stomach when I thought about my Sparky. Yes, it is true. This crazy lunatic misses her CAT (a.k.a Sparky). I was all excited about being single for a few days and now I am all missing him. I must be human after all :)

It really pisses me off (no pun intended) when people leave pee droplets on the toilet seat. When you turn around to flush the toilet, you would have to see what you left behind. Why not just go ahead and clean up your mess?

UURRRGGG. Nothing pisses me off more than sitting in someone else’s piss and then having it on my skin all freakin day long because no matter how hard you try to wipe it off you can still feel it on the back of your leg. Thank you PISSER. God help ya if I find out who is doing this.

At 9:30 AM I get a piece of fresh fruit (given to us by our company). I usually get an apple, because the oranges are too juicy. I won’t get into how I make my fruit selection today because it is a process I go through everyday and it torments me, but I digress.

Any who, I walk down the hallway to get my piece of fruit. I then walk past the restroom knowing good and well that if I look at the restroom door I will have to go, but I keep on walking back to my desk. Why I don’t just stop and go to the restroom I will never know! Everyday, I get back to my desk and turn right back around to go to the restroom.

While I am walking to the restroom, I see the water fountain right outside the restroom door. Everyday, with my apple in hand, I want to take the sticker (I peeled off my apple) and the stem (I pulled off my apple) and throw them into the water fountain. I don’t know why I want to do this. I have to remind myself that if I were to do that, the water fountain drains would be polluted with apple stickers and stems. Where does this urge come from? Why would I want to throw my trash into the water fountain?

I even think about how the stem would go down the drain, but the sticker would get stuck. I also think about how the sticker could keep the stem from going down the drain if I threw the sticker in there first. I have never done it because I talk myself out of it, but I want to, I digress!

I then go into the restroom, frustrated that I want to thrown my trash into the nice clean water fountain, sit my apple on the counter, use the restroom, wash my hands, wash my apple, dry off my apple (and in the process dry off my hands), walk to my desk, cut my apple, and FINALLY 12 hours later eat my apple.

While I am eating my apple I think about how I STILL WANT TO THROW MY APPLE STICKER AND STEM INTO THE WATER FOUNTAIN! WHY PEOPLE? WHY? Why do these thoughts pollute my head?

Is this normal? I think I have OCD or something or maybe I am just a rebel at heart, who knows!!

We had a good Memorial day w/e. It was busy but good! We did a lot of spring cleaning, ran a lot of errands, and hung out with family and friends.

Friday we cleaned and organized.

Saturday we went swimming with the Ramelows. To show you HOW out of shape I am, my arms are still killing me from that swim! One freakin day and my pecks are killing me!

Sunday slept late and went over to my Mom's house for dinner. My brother, his chick, and BFF were in town so we got to visit with them.

Monday we stayed around the house and did some more spring cleaning.

I got a new iPOD too! I spent a lot of my time downloading a MILLION cds onto my new iPOD. I got the 30GB video one. I LOVE IT! Theoretically, if I listened every song on there, they did not repeat, I would have a month worth of music! A MONTH! Isn't that cool?

While the cat is away the MOUSE will play!

I have activities planned for every night Andrew is gone!

Wednesday night (tonight) Cara, Sommer, and Alison are coming over to my house for dinner.
Thursday night I am having dinner with Melody.
Friday night I am hanging out with Sharon.
Saturday I am hanging out with Carsten all day (and he is spending a night with me!) and going to James’ b-day party! I get to see Karol and Sarah and Melissa and James all in one day!
Sunday I am hanging out with my BFF, ME! That’s right people! I am renting a bunch of girly movies and watching them all day long!
Monday HE is coming home and my fun is over! Just kidding Sparky! Love you!

FUN FUN FUN :)

Yesterday it cost me $45.00 to fill up my car. I usually don't put gas in my car anymore, Andrew does that for me, but yesterday I was running on fumes so I stopped. I hear people complain about the cost of gas all the time, and this includes Andrew, but I never really pay attention to the complaints until yesterday!

The whole episode got me to thinking about all the things I could have bought with that money.

For $45.00, I could have:
* bought a nice pair of shoes
* paid my water bill
* paid half of my electric bill
* bought groceries
* went out to dinner at a NICE restaurant
* bought necessities at Wal-greens (which I did yesterday right after I bought gas!)
* bought a new pair of jeans
* bought a new purse
* if I smoked, bought two cartons of cigarettes
* bought cable for a month!

Very interesting, but such is life. I can honestly say that I MUST be getting old, because I thought to myself (while I was pumping gas) I REMEMBER THE TIME WHEN IT ONLY COST ME $15.00 TO FILL UP MY TANK WITH GAS. Those were the days, I digress.

For some reason, "Houston, we have a problem" was in my head this morning.

At first, I could not remember why I said that in my head.

Then I started thinking (I know, I know), how cool is that we can say that and really mean it because we live in Houston?!

A lot of people that do not live in Houston say that, but it is not the same because they don't live here.

Yeah, that's right, YOU DON'T LIVE HERE so it doesn't mean caca when you say it LOSERS. I digress.

:)

That is my new favorite saying, I digress. It seems to add so much to whatever I am saying. I can feel confident that I have said everything I need to say, but that if I had the time I would say a WHOLE lot more. It is almost like a to be continued statement. LOVE IT!

So the final American Idol show last night was AWESOME! It was like watching a concert! I loved everyone on the show, with the exception of that band that played with Chris D. (since I don't listen to that type of music), but I digress. They really went all out this year, and as a fan of the show I appreciated it! I mean Dionne Warwick! And Clay Aiken! And PRINCE?!! And Mary J. Blige!! I had to go get my Mary J. CD out of my home office last night so I could listen to it this morning! NO MORE DRAMAAAAAA.......(I am singing). One word, AWESOME.

A co-worker of mine called Andrew and I a DI-NK type of couple. I was like, what the hell does that mean?! Come to find out DI-NK means, dual-income no kids! How cool is that? So now I can say that Andrew and I are DI-NKs!

This baby was the star of the show!

This old guy was very interesting!

This is the star of my show!
Andrew and I went to my company's picnic today. We had a good time! We had great food, and Andrew got to meet some of my co-workers.

I miss Carsten!

Here he says, "I love you Aunt MeMe!"

Here he says, "You better lock your doors while you sleep lady."

This is the look he gave me after I took the first picture!
How he can go from looking so happy to looking so sullen, I will never know!

I like to use Tide to wash my clothes, but Andrew thinks it is too expensive so I have switched to Gain Gardenia Delight (in the pretty pink bottle).

We ran out of it so when Andrew went to Wal-Mart I asked him to grab some more. Before he left I asked him if he knew EXACTLY which one to get and he said he knew which one it was.

Guess what? He came home with the wrong scent. He brought home Apple Mango Tango something or another and it really set me off.

I don't mind the Gardenia Delight smell, but who the hell wants to smell like FRUIT? That is what I thought the first time I saw these new scents at the grocery store. FRUIT?

So anyway, I am sitting here smelling like fruit. That is the first thing I thought of this morning when I put my shirt on, "This shirt smells like.........funny......like FRUIT."

Thanks Dear, now I am fruity.

I bring my lunch to work because I am lazy and I don't want to put forth the effort it would take to:

Go down the stairs to get to the parking garage
Go up the stairs in the parking garage to get to my car
Get in my car
Start my car
Adjust myself in the driver's seat
Adjust the radio
Drive somewhere
Wait in line
Order my food
Hand someone my money
Grab my food
Get back into my car
Adjust myself in the driver's seat
Adjust the radio again
Drive back to work
Climb down the stairs in the parking garage to get to my building
Climb up the stairs to get to my floor (I am on the second floor)
Walk to my chair
Adjust myself in my chair
Eat

That is just how lazy I am.

Helllloooooo readers! Sorry, I disappeared on you ;)

This past week has been crazy to say the least. The new job is going well. I am getting into the swing of things, I think!

Not much has been going on at home. Andrew and I have just been working, working, and more working.

Today I got to hang out with my parents and Andrew did the same. That's about it!

Maybe I will have some more interesting stories next week!

I guess working from home made my immune system weak, because I am already sick after only be in the office for a week! I felt fine yesterday during the day time, but last night I started sneezing and my nose started running. I thought it was allergies, but I guess it wasn't! By the time I went to bed I had a horrible head cold :( Oh well, hopefully it will be gone soon.

Well, I survived my first day and it went really well! The people are really nice and happy to see me. Seems like the teams have been neglected a little since there are not enough writers to go around! I got my first project and I am ready to go. I think :) I don't know what the hell I am writing about, they could be talking in a foreign language for all I know. I am sure I will learn all the lingo soon. Thanks for all your support!

YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME?!!

Saturday I went to Katy with some friends (Joanne, Ana, and Karen) and made this card keeper. Isn't it cute? I had a great time! It was nice to just get away, sit down somewhere and concentrate on something other than work!

Melody organized my TIG GoodBye Luncheon on Friday at Paulie's. I think close to 25 people showed up, and I got some good loot too! It was nice to see everyone and spend time with them before I left FORVER (heehee). I will post pictures as soon as I get them!

Today I had my goodbye luncheon with all of my HP clients. We celebrated at Willie's Icehouse off of 249 and about 20 people showed up! We had a really good time! I am going to miss them!

(from left to right) Susan my HP manager, Melody my right-hand-woman and writer extraordinar, Lea my Production Admin, and ME!
Susan gave me this trophy, which I thoughwas really cool! It says, "Awesome Amy" The Best Tech Writer Around!

NO ONE WILL GIVE ME SHORT TERM INSURANCE!

There is something wrong with this country, truly.

One of the FIVE questions on the application for short term insurance is:

Have you or anyone in your family had cancer within the past five years?

Yes, I have had cancer within in the past five years and I AM A SURVIVOR for goodness sake! I thought being a survivor and being able to sing I WILL SURVIVE meant something special, but apparently it means nothing except NO COVERAGE!

I had cancer and I am here to talk about it, so you PUNISH ME? AS IF!

I feel like I have been labeled like USDA Grade A beef, except I would be USDA Grade F for F**KED! Man being labeled and discriminated against is a terrible thing. I hope you guys never go through this.

COBRA here I come!

Dear Diary,

Today was a good day. I got to hang out with my mom for about 4 hours or so. We laughed and laughed, it was really nice. I need to hang out with her more often. Today when I was with her, I remembered why she is one of my best friends.

I am starting to get excited about my new job. It seems like it has been months since I first heard about the opening! Literally, I was telling Andrew tonight that time has been passing by so slowly since I interviewed for the position. I wonder why that happens? Why does time seem to pass slowly at one time, but super fast at another?

At first I was scared and nervous about making a HUGE career change, but now I am starting to feel confident and happy about my decision. I think this is a good change for me and my family. Over the past few weeks, a lot of my frustrations with my current job have been appearing more clearly. I guess I pushed down a lot of my angst just to get the job done. I am sure you all can relate!

I started to get some clothes together for my first few weeks at my new job. I still need some shoes and a few other items, but I think I got most of what I need. I have also packed an emergency kit filled with essentials like tampons, aspirin, granola bars, you know stuff for emergencies! HA! You never know when you might be leaking from a defective tampon, dying from a splitting headache developed during a less-than-spectacular meeting, or about to pass out from hunger because you didn't eat enough at lunch ;)

I am trying not to think about my work buddies because I know I am going to miss them. I know telling them goodbye is going to tear me up the most. But, I guess the people who are real friends will stay in contact. Look at Karol and Melissa, we all still stay in touch, AND they like all of my Amyisms!

Andrew is excited about the career change and has stepped up to the plate to help out around the house. His new jobs are to feed the children when he gets home, check the mail, take care of the dishes, and take the trash out (when appropriate). These things will help me out a lot, thanks Sparky LUH U!

Well Diary, I have blabbed enough for now! ME ME ME, that is all I talk about :) See ya later!

So yesterday I woke up and I thought to myself, "Today is going to be a good day!"

Boy was I wrong, because it turned out to be a weird day!

Here's the evidence!

1. I got up and got dressed to meet Melissa and James. Andrew was out doing lawn work and he was very irritable. So I go outside and to tell Andrew I was about to leave, and I close the garage door behind me. I go to turn the knob and it appears to be locked. Andrew looks at me and says, "What the f*ck did you do now?" Now, he is still alive, but only because I need for him to give me children :) The door was not locked, I grabbed my purse, put the car in reverse and flipped him off as I went on my way. See, I was having a nice morning and Andrew tried to ruined that part of it, but I prevailed. He called me and apologized for being rude and I went on my way.
2. Then I get to Melissa's house, and I was having a good time chatting with Brad and James. Then she backed her new car into the garage. You can read more about it on her blog. See, I was having a nice chat and Melissa had an accident which could have put a damper on the day, but we prevailed.
3. When I got home from shopping I wanted to watch some t.v. So I found this really cute PBS special on wild stallions. I was really digging the show until this male horse literally grabbed this just born foul and KILLED IT! Before I could change the station, I saw all of the MURDER. See, I was having a nice evening, enjoying the PBS special and I see violence, but I prevailed. Now all I can think about is the violence. I know remember why I don't watch PBS shows.
4. Then the Hallmark movie Andrew has been talking about for WEEKS finally came on. All I am going to say is that it was a WASTE of two hours of my life. BORING. See, I was trying to have a nice evening, after seeing the violence from the PBS special, and it was a horrible movie. What a waste!

So you see what I am talking about? But through it all I tried to stay positive! What a weird Sunday!

Yesterday I went to Arnes with Melissa and James and I found this HUGE bucket of Super Bubble gum! Pure Heaven!

How to beg for attention Francis style!

Step 1: Act like you don't care. "I don't hear you calling my name!"

Step 2: Play coy. "What? Are you talking to me? Oh, I am sorry."

Step 3: Give up already! "Please pet me already! I give up! I need your love!"

Step 4: Relish in the love! "Ahhhhh, was it as good for you, as it was for me?"

Step 5: Go to sleep :) "I am suddenly so tired."

Last night I had bean burrito from taco hell. I am feeling the bean burrito's kick this morning. All I can say is thank goodness I am working from home, if you know what I mean! WHEW! When Andrew suggested that we go to taco hell for dinner, I knew it was a bad idea. Once I have a bean burrito, I can't stop. I get addicted to them! I even bought an extra one so I could have it for lunch today! I am sick people, really sick!

I feel like I am in a commercial for depression:

Who Does Gas Hurt?

Gas, caused by taco hell bean burritos, can hurt everyone — both emotionally and physically.

Someone with gas might think or say any of the following:

"I feel sad all the time, because I can't stop passing gas."
"I just don't feel like myself, because the gas has taken over my body."
"I don't enjoy being with my friends or doing any of the things I usually love to do,becauseI am afraid I will pass gas."
"I feel completely overwhelmed by my life. I can't see a way out of the smog caused by my gas."
"I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, because I wake up from passing gas."
"I keep having aches and pains, and I don't know why. I think it is because my anal muscle has gotten a work out from passing all of the gas!"

Gas is not just a temporary mood, and it's not a sign of personal weakness. People with gas can experience a variety of emotional and physical symptoms. For some people, it's a matter of feeling sad, overwhelmed, or stressed out. For others, aches, pains, fatigue, and other physical problems are part of their gas too. In fact, research suggests that about two-thirds of people diagnosed with gas talk to their family doctors first about physical symptoms.

Well readers, things are changing! I gave my notice to my current employer. It went........okay, I guess. I didn't want them to gravel at my feet and beg me to stay, however, I would have appreciated some sort of gratitude for the past 5 years of service. I walked away feeling more like a number, instead of a valued employee. But at any rate, I am starting to get excited about my new job. I am scared to death, but trying to stay focused on the positives.

I went back to the foot doctor today and she told me that my foot looks better, however, it is not healed. I need at least four more weeks in the boot. BOOOOOO. And she thinks I have another fracture in another bone, and a fracture in my big toe bone. UGH. I don't know how this happened. But with time, all will be well.

A NEW BATHROOM! He came in the middle of the night and fix the hole in my bathroom ceiling, AND painted it for me! How he knew what shade I wanted the paint to be, I will never know :)

Willy Wonka: Don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted.
Charlie Bucket: What happened?
Willy Wonka: He lived happily ever after.

A change would do you good
A change would do you good

Hello, it’s me, I’m not at home
If you’d like to reach me, leave me alone

A change would do you good
A change would do you good

Well, things are changing in the Obenhaus house! I have so many mixed feelings right now.

Here's a list:

happy
relieved
excited
optimistic
scared
nervous
anxious
terrified

Those are a lot of different feelings! While I want change (or at least I think I do :) when I get it, I get scared. Not some much of the decision I made, because I feel comfortable with my decision, but scared of the unknown. The what if's. What if this happens, or what if that happens. But, I am going to put on my best game face, polish my self-confidence, and as Melissa says, "Fake-it-till-I-make-it!"

S: "Do you ever wonder why I always wear a belt?"

A: "I can honestly say I have never wondered that. But since you ask, why do you
always wear a belt dear?"

S: "Because one of my greatest fears is that the button on my pants will become faulty,
and my pants will fall down and show the world all of Sparky."

A: "Are you serious? You think your button is going to pop off, and your pants are going
to fall down?"

S: "Heck yeah! It could happen."

A: "And to think I thought people wore belts to be fashionable."

S: "Not your Sparky. Not your Sparky."

Andrew, Sharon, and I went to the Bayou Crawfish Festival downtown last night to see Jack Ingram. The weather was perfect, maybe a little bit on the windy side but I am not complaining, and the company was nice! I love Jack Ingram and he put on a really good show last night. Andrew is not a huge fan, but he is a big fan of mine so he tagged along :) After the show was over, we all commented on how old we felt at the show! There were all these young college and highschool kids everywhere. Geez, is time flying by or what?!

Andrew and I have a problem. We like to walk around our house, either half-dressed or naked! We really enjoy being free! Well, being "free" is very hard in this house. In our master bedroom we have HUGE windows, in the living room we have the sliding glass door, and in the kitchen we have two very visible from the street windows. One of the kitchen windows has curtains, but the other smaller window has nothing. For almost a year, I have been wanting to put up blinds on the little window, but have not done so. At night, and in the mornings, we walk into the kitchen and most of the time Andrew is NAKED! Well, this whole situation has turned into a game. We think if we run really fast and do whatever we need to do in there and run back out, no one can see us! I know, we are really smart education people ;) And Andrew seems to think that the cabinets block his bottom half. Dear, I hate to tell you, but physics say that if you are standing at the refrigerator and someone is looking into the small window, you can see EVERYTHING! Now if you are standing right up against the cabinets close to the window, sure you can't see your bottom half!

For about 6 months, I have been telling Andrew to at least put some boxers on when he goes into the kitchen, because someone is going to complain to the homeowners association. He just says, "Yeah whatever" and gives me a "off my back lady" look. You women know the look. Anywho, so I decided to play a joke on him! I created a letter, that looks just like a letter we got from the HOA when we moved into the house, and I put it in the mail! HEE HEE! I am so mean! I love it!

Update: When he went to read the mail he was like, "Oh no, we got something from HOA. They probably didn't get our dues and are taking our house. Oh shit." Then he opened the letter and he was like, "OH NO!" And he started laughing and he said the witch next door turned him in for being naked and he was laughing so hard. Then he said, "Oh well, she shouldn't be looking in our window!" I let him laugh about it for awhile and then I started asking him if it was real and what if she sent the letter to us. I was trying to get him to look at the 29 cent stamp! I even said, look at the stamp it is not real. It is a 29 cent stamp and stamps now are 39 cents. He said no if you send something through business mail it is only 29 cents, so it is right. I don't know where he got that information from! To me a stamp is a stamp, but I digress! He kept saying no this letter is real. Finally, I started laughing so hard I could not speak and then I told him it was me and we laughed and laughed. This one will go down in the books! APRIL FOOLS DAY DEAR!

Here are the tools I used to fake-out Andrew:

The Fake Letter

The "Real" Letter I Leveraged From

The Old Used Stamp I Placed on the Fake Envelope

(see how it has 29 cents instead of 39 cents?)

The party went very very well. I really liked the "decorations" and the "party favors." It lasted over 3 hours! We did a lot of dancing. I am waiting to hear if they want me to come to another party, or if they want me to DJ forever!

This week I am watching Bubby! I love him to pieces, and I am so glad he is here! We are having a blast! Visit his blog for more details http://bubbycar.blogspot.com.
