I survived! I gave my speech! I was so nervous, but I lived to tell you about it!

I have been asked to recall my most memorable story here at XXX. I would love to tell you of just one memorable story, but I can't. You see, so many things have happened, so many stories have been born.

Like the time XXX went over to the old paper shredder to shred some paper. XXX turned the on switch on and nothing happened. So XXX went behind the shredder and touched the power cord. Little did XXX know that the shredder had a really bad short in the power cord. All I heard next was a loud noise and XXX saying, "Ouch, wow that hurt." I did get out of my chair and look over the cubicle wall to see XXX laying on the floor looking dazed. Now, I did what every good employee would have done, I sat back down and went right back to work. XXX was never right, but XXX was especially not right after that shock.

Then there was the time I was walking into the restroom and I pushed the door really hard to open it. I heard this loud noise and someone falling behind the door. Well, it was XXX again. Seems that XXX was walking out as I was walking in and I hit XXX with the door. XXX's hand was hurt and I had to lift XXX off of the bathroom floor. After I stopped laughing, I felt a little bad. XXX complained about her wrist for awhile after that one.

Then there was the time a company email was sent around asking everyone to start dressing more professionally. The part that got me was that we were suppose to wear scarves to accent our outfits and we were to color coordinate our outfits with the colors of the office walls. Yeah, the walls were royal purple.

Then there was the time I won a company award and when I went to go get the award from the prez of my company, I thought XXX was going to kiss me so I basically stuck my arm out and pushed XXX away. This created hysterical laughing.

Then there was the time someone ran over a duck in the company parking lot and two employees went out there to finish it off with a bat and threw it in the garbage can.

Then there was the time some weirdo left rose petals and a love note on XXX's desk.

You see, there are just too many memorable stories to share :)

This week has been rather eventful in the Obenhaus house. I went to two "parties" today. I had a lot of fun at one, and hope to go again real soon. The other one was okay, but I am not sure if I will be going back next year :) Andrew has a party to go to tomorrow. We are just parting people :)

Tomorrow, I have to get up in front of my company and give a small speech about my experience there in the past 5 years. You see the company I work for likes to make people squirm. I mean, why else would they make you do this? I am really, really bad at public speaking. I hope I can make it to the podium without passing out. Wish me luck!

As many of you know, our first baby would have been born in April. It is hard for me to imagine that Andrew and I could of had a baby this month. It is so surreal. Most of the time we don't talk about the baby, since we both just want to move on with our lives (That sounds so selfish when I say it, but it is so true.).

But this weekend, we did talk about the baby. I can't go into the specifics about our conversation, but I can tell you that we have both been thinking about our baby these last few weeks. I can also tell you that we are both still so tremendously heartbroken over the loss, words cannot describe our hurt. Just the slightest mention of our first baby from Andrew renders me speechless, and brings me to tears.

Daily reminders remind us of what could have been. Neither one of us are immune to our feelings of discontent deep down inside when we hear about someone else having a baby, even though we are happy for them on the outside. My hope is that one day our feelings from the loss of our dream, will turn from immense sadness into immense joy when we look into our baby's eyes.

The Ramelow and Obenhaus families went down to Galveston yesterday. The weather was absolutely perfect!

Riding in the car!

Eating lunch!

The beach!

Playing on the beach!

(What is this Brokeback Galveston?!! heehee)

Walking around on the strand!

So I went back to the foot doctor this morning, in hopes of not having to wear this walking cast. Yeah, tough luck on that one! They took some more x-rays, and it seems that I have broken my bone in THREE places. Yes, THREE clean breaks. The bone is suppose to be round, but mine looks like a cone. UGH, so I am in this walking cast for another 4 weeks, plus she added some thing that I have to wear inside the walking cast that makes me feel like I am walking on a stone or something. Seriously, I feel like I am Frankenstein! Once again, the pain of being me.

Tonight was so beautiful outside! We took the children out and watched them play in the backyard. I know you get tired of the "pet" photos, but these are our kids, and I happen to think they are adorable!

Six rain gauges in our backyard!

Last night, I walked into the living room and noticed that Chipug was chewing on something white and slender. At first, I thought it was her fake plastic bone, but then I thought to myself, no that is not what she has in her mouth. She is much like a two year old, always got something in her mouth that does not belong there, so I approached her to find out what she had gotten in to this time. The first thing I noticed was whatever was in her mouth was moving. Yes, it was a HUGE white/nude gecko! I screamed and ran to the other side of the room, while Andrew and the children looked at me like I was nuts. After I gained some of my composure, I yelled at Andrew, who was in la-la land, to let the dogs out. He finally snapped too and realized that there was a dying gecko on the foot rest inches away from him. He cleaned it up and took the trash out. Chipug came back inside and ran to her kennel, while Pascal looked around with the "What is going on in here" expression on his face. Poor thing, he is so clueless! The whole thing freaked me out! So this morning I was working in my office and Chipug comes in and sits by my feet. She normally does not do this unless she wants something. I look down and there is the tail that belonged to the gecko! I guess she was bringing me a peace offering from last night. EEEWWWW!

We have been having some behavior issues with Chipug. Most recently, she has started digging HUGE holes in our backyard. For such a little animal, she sure can cause huge problems!

We also started noticing, around the same time, that she has been more clingy toward Pascal. I don't know what her problem is! My mom suggested contacting the Dog Whisperer! Maybe he could find out what is bugging Chipug!

Last night while Andrew was working on the computer, I decided to do a little spring cleaning in my home office. I came across a box full of pens, markers, pencils, etc.... (Note: I am a pen person, and I never throw them out unless they don't write anymore.) I started going through the box and realized that some of these pens have been with me for YEARS, and that some of them have a story (there were about a 100 pens or so in this box!)!

Pen #1 Vitamin World-This pen brings back a lot of memories for me. I worked at Vitamin World, for over 5 years, while I was in college. It was one of the most boring jobs I have ever had, however, the money was good and the people were great. I met a lot of amazing people during my time there.

Pen #2 Cypresswood Crossing Apt-This is a pen I stole while filling out an apartment application form! Hey, I am sure I didn't swipe it on purpose. If memory serves me correctly, these are the apartments I lived in the FIRST time I moved in with "the ex-fiancé." DH hates it when I talk about the ex, but in some weird way I believe "the ex-fiancé" helped shape who I am today. You cannot ignore the past, because it shapes the future.

Pen #3 Gel.max-This pen has been with me for a long time. I don't know when I bought it, but I instantly remebered how much I loved this pen when I saw it! I remembered a lot of events in my past where this pen was present! I love the way this pen writes so smoothly :)

Pen #4 Garza Dental-This pen has a story! When I first started working for TIG, I had a horrible tooth ache. I let it go and go, until one day the pain was so bad I couldn't stand it anymore. I did not have a dentist here in town, since I had just graduated. The HR person at my company told me to look up dentists that were in our dental network. So I did so and I found this Garza Dental close to my house. I quickly made an appointment the same day. I walked into the office and I kid you not, there were people in dental chairs just lined up in this HUGE room. No walls, no nothing. I was desperate so I filled out the forms and gave them back to the receptionist. I then told her I needed to get something out of my car and I left and never came back! It was horrible, but somehow I managed to steal this pen! HA!

Pen #5 Wyndham-This pen obviously came from a hotel! A few years ago I went to an STC conference in Dallas, and I swiped this pen from the hotel room! It was the first conference I had ever been too, and I thought I was a hot shot ;)

Pen #6 Fish pen-This is a good one! I bought this pen when I was in high school! I somehow received an Audubon Society catalog and this pen was for sale. I was a HUGE fish nut back then and I thought it was the coolest pen ever! I sent them something like $25 bucks for this pen. That was a lot of money for me back then. I still love this pen when I look at it! It reminds me of a fishing lure!

Pen #7 Le Pen-This pen I bought (and/or stole) when I was working at Micheals. I worked there while I was in high school. I hated the job, but I thought this pen was so cool because it was not just a pen, it was a Le Pen!

Pen #8 PaperMate-I bet this pen belongs to my mom! When I was growing up she really liked this brand of pen. You could find them all over our house, however, she could never find one and would always ask us where her pens went! This pen reminds me of my mom.

Pen #9 Compaq-I think I got this pen while I was doing my internship at Compaq. I was so excited to be making real money! It was both exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Pen #10 ProClaim-This pen represents so much in my life. I got this pen when I met Andrew (this is the company he works for). When I look at this pen, I see my life with him. I see our future. This is my favorite pen :)

and I have bacne. I try to get rid of it, I wash regularly and I even have DH put acne cream all over my back. But it is still there. It itches, it is painful, and I feel like a walking cyst. One of the only perks at my current job is that once a month we get a 30-minute massage. I have one scheduled tomorrow, but I want to cancel it in fear that the masseuse will scream at the bacne. Yes, I am sure she has seen worse, but I do not want to be put on "the worst" list! What if while she is massaging me one of the pimples EXPLODES. UGH, the pain of being me :)

As many of you know, I am a huge fan of www.dooce.com. It just so happens that dooce was part of a discussion panel at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival this past Monday. I went to the SXSW website to hear the podcast. It was extremely long, but enjoyable. It seemed like one of the main subjects of the panel discussion was how to make money from your site. They didn't really come out and say that, but that is what they were talking about. Should we or should we not use advertisements on our blog? Should we or should we not make people pay to see our blog? Personally, I don't care whether a blog, or website for that matter, has advertisements. I could give a rats ass less. I do however care if a blog, or website, were to ask me for money to view their stuff. Just my two cents! If you are a fan of www.dooce.com, and you have an hour or so to spare, you might want to listen to the podcast. Personally, I find the whole subject of making money off of a hobby very interesting!

I just got a call from a certain someone about what DH stands for.

This certain someone said they thought DH stood for Dick Head!

AS IF! When I wrote it I meant for it to mean Dear Husband!

Get a grip, and if you don't know what it means google it! Now, after doing further research maybe I should I meant for it to mean Deer Hunter, or Dumb Husband, or Dennis Hopper :)

Today Cara and Carsten are coming over for a visit. I am excited. I think we might go to the park. I was thinking about taking Chipug since I don't have a child to take with me. Chipug can play on the playground with all the other children. She is my new child. I shall take her with me her everywhere. Chipug = Child. I will let you know how it comes out. She may not get along with the other children. I have a feeling she could be a biter ;)

One of my avid readers has requested a new post, so here it is! Lately I guess I feel like I have had nothing really to talk about. GASP. The nerve. What? I CAN HEAR YOU!!

This week I am coming off of the whole "I let someone ruin the past 3 weeks of my life" phase. Even yesterday, I still let "that issue" get to me. I allowed "that issue" to get under my skin. I feel extremely guilty. In my mind I keep replaying the events that took place. The events that lead to the outcome, of which I THOUGHT I was very happy about.

I keep asking myself these questions over and over again:
"Am I really that happy about the outcome?"
"Did I do the right thing?"
"Am I am evil, back-stabbing, blood sucking monster?"
"Am I as honest to myself and others as I think I am?"
"Should I have done things differently?"
"Am I am envious person?"

BLAH. BLAH. BLAH.

Just last week, after "that issue" was taken care of, I felt this HUGE sigh of relief. But this week, I feel guilty. I know I am a people pleaser, and I want people to like me. But at what cost? I guess at the cost of myself! I stood tall in my decisions. I was firm. I took action. Things happened the way I wanted them too. Now I am backtracking? What is wrong with me?!! I got what I wanted and now I feel bad about it. I need some medication!

I actually asked DH last night if I was a bad person (like he would tell me if I were!). He told me to quit thinking about it. That I am making it worse. That I am letting it snowball. Damn him, maybe he is right. So here I am again talking about it AGAIN to you! That is it. The whole thing is over. "That issue" has been taken care of. I am letting it go. I am moving on.......

So the weather is rather lovely today, don't you think?!

I was sitting in the kitchen enjoying my coffee this morning when I heard Andrew say, as he was coming out of my restroom, "That toilet paper was created by the devil." I had no idea the devil works for Cottonelle!

Me, Andrew, Cara, Danyel, Carsten, Melissa, Brad, and James all went to the Haak Winery (www.haakwine.com) Greek Festival yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was relaxing! We had a great time! Here are some pictures!
