I have been agonizing over getting someone to help me out around the house. When I have the time, cleaning the house has always been something that I "enjoy." I use the term "enjoy' loosely! But lately, I just don't have the time to do the kind of job I would like to do. So I started asking around for references and Karol was good enough to give me the name of her maid. Now, she had not yet tried her maid, but she came with glowing references, so how could I go wrong :)

The maid and I exchanged several calls, and we decided she would come on a Wednesday morning. I told her that we normally leave the house very early, around 6. She said okay, but she never told me what time she was coming to the house. I didn't care because I wasn't going to be here, or so I thought! It just so happened that that morning, we were leaving town and I was working a 1/2 a work. So I wasn't leaving the house until 7-ish. I was getting ready for work, fixing my hair and make-up (in the nude, of course). The dogs were at Keeter's house, it was just me and the cat, and he was sitting on the bed. I went into the bedroom to retrieve my underwear and I noticed he was very attentive. The hair on his back was all up and his ears were perked up and he was looking at the bedroom door. Now, Andrew and I have always joked that Francis is the best watch dog we could ever have! Better than the dogs, for sure! BUT, I paid him no mind, because I was in a hurry and he has cried wolf before.

I went back into the bathroom and continued to get ready. Then I started thinking about it and thought I better check it out JUST to be sure since the alarm was off. I reached for a towel, placed it kinda over my body, started to walk out of the bathroom, and then out of our bedroom and I see two people coming down my hallway. They started to scream! I was trying to see who it was and gather my towel! They screamed some more and started to turn around, fumbling over each other and saying sorry, sorry, we didn't know anyone was home. I just kinda stood there. You guys know I am not shy! I said OH, you must be the maids! Let me get dressed! Give me a sec! They were like, OKAY, but they did not turn around! HA! I do believe I traumatized them! So I got dressed, introduced myself, and went to work. Even as I shook their hands, they seemed embarrassed. I was not! How weird is that! It seems like I should have been the one screaming not them! I wonder what that means :)
