I left my camera at Andrew's parents house. I will post some pixs and details a little later :)

This morning on the way to work I was listening to a CD I got for Christmas. Not a new CD, but a rediscovered CD J One guess who the artist is? Yes, it’s Dolly. I have bought this CD THREE times and THREE times I have lost it. This time I burnt it and I downloaded it. It’s not going anywhere, HA.

Anywho, I was listening to this CD and I found myself thinking about my birth father. Not sure why he popped into my head, but he did. For the purpose of this post I will use his initials (ORL) when referring to him.

I was thinking about ORL and wondering if he got my Christmas card. Before I sent him the card, I checked his to see if his address was still current on the internet. To be honest, I have no idea why I didn’t just use the address I have used for the past six years now.

Weird, but I did look it up and he DID end up having a new address, or so I think. I guess it bothered me that IF he does have a new address and they did move that no one told me, but then again I have only spoken to the man ONE in the past six years. Although, his wife and I have had contact through e-mail and snail mail. But once again, I digress J

So anyway back to my story, this CD was playing and this song came on, Not for Me. Isn’t it amazing how a song can sound completely different when you have something on your mind? I have heard this sound a million times, okay at least a thousand times, and I have always thought it was about love. You know, romantic love. But this morning, this song was about ORL and me.

With love, I always try so hard to get it right
I find it gone just when I think I might
Regretfully I see it last for some, but not for me

Out of reach of all the things I want to have and hold
I've come to just accept that's how it goes
I've come so close
Not for me, it's not for me to question, I suppose
But I keep wonderin' what the future holds
Why must it be?
That life's so sweet for some, but not for me

Every single line represents how I feel at this moment about the situation I have been experiencing for the past six years with him. I want to accept that this is how it is going to be, but I can’t help but think about the future and wonder if it is going to change. If one day I am going to wake up and make a call or if he is going to make a call. I wonder what is keeping all of us from being a family. I look at other families and I think how lucky they are to know both of their parents. To know where they come from. I was telling Andrew that I don’t know half of my blood relatives. I have no clue who they are. He looked at me like I was crazy. If I could make this work, if I could pull this off, I would be triple lucky because I would have three families!

CAT PEOPLE! PUSSY CAT! Get your mind out of the gutter!

I know! I am sorry! I couldn't help it! I had to do it :)

Introduced to you in a previous post, this little squirrel still lives and manages to scare me on a weekly basis!

I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving. Andrew and I spent the day with my family. My Nanny and brother came in from out of town. It was nice, and my mother's cooking was OUTTA SIGHT!

We are spending this afternoon with Andrews family. Once again, it will be nice to see everyone.

Then later tonight, I am going out with Sharon. We are going to go see Jack Ingram in concert! I am so excited. It has been a long time since I got to see him, and Sharon.

I actually got Wednesday-Monday off so it has been really nice. There are a lot of things going on around the ObenHOUSE. A lot of things that we hope will make '07 better than ever. I will keep everyone posted as I can!

I am thankful for my family, my friends, my job, and all the material things ;) I am thankful for the roof over my head and the food on my table. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful to be one of God's children.

Bubby came to stay with us this past weekend. We had a blast. We went to Monkey Bizness on Friday, Lake Conroe on Saturday, and the park on Sunday! BUSY!

I love watching how he is growing. I swear every time I see him, he looks bigger. My little Bubby is growing up. I knew this was going to happen, I just didn't know it would be so fast.

My favorite part of the weekend was hearing him say MeMe in his tiny little voice. He is so sweet! Thanks to the Birds for letting us spend our weekend with Bubby.

(Blogger is being weird, I'll post some more pixs later :)

I read this in Conceive Magazine and instantly feel in love with it.

“A relative of mine couldn’t understand why I was passing around pictures of my dogs. I fully realize that my dogs are not my children, but for this moment in my life, they are my little ones and is very comforting to me as I try to have a baby.”

I forgot to mention that I went to dinner Friday night with my dear, dear friend Melody! We had a great time catching up and eating dinner :)

We had another nice relaxing weekend. I was off on Friday (we started a new 9/80 schedule at work) and I got to go see Carsten and Cara before they left town. I did some running around and managed to get Raeven's hair done. She looks so cute! Saturday I had to help my mom with her garage sale. IT WAS crazy! She made something like $1300! She had a lot of crap to get rid of. Sunday I went to church and lunch with Karol, while Andrew stayed at home and cleaned. Then we packed the children in the car and went to the dog park. We took evil Chipug, but we made sure she had her bark collar. She only attacked one dog, so we consider this trip successful :) After the dog park, we stopped by Andrew's parents house to show off our new baby. We also ran into Aunt Carol. Overall, it was another nice weekend!

Andrew and I had a good weekend. We actually spent a lot of time together. I don’t think we realized that we needed a break from life and worries and such, and just needed us time. Saturday night we went to the Studio Movie Grill and had date night. We saw The Departed. The movie sucked, but the time together was nice. Sunday we got up and went to church with Karol, Melody, and Jesse. It was SOO nice to go to church! The message was great and it really hit home. Then Sunday afternoon we went to go meet Raeven and brought her home. We spent the evening with the children just chilling. It was nice, all of it!

Introducing Raven Dove

Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with Andrew and me! Let me explain, it happened like this. I saw a post on the Pug Meetup site for a dog that needed a home. I asked Andrew if we could add a dog to our family. He said yes. I emailed the woman. She responded. We went to meet her and pick up the dog yesterday. NOW, are we crazy? I think so!

Raeven Dove (Raeven is her original name, but I added the Dove part because Raven Dove is a Dolly song) is SOOO cute and she is very small. She only weighs 6 pounds! She is a very expensive Brussel Griffon. We did not buy her, we just adopted her. No money exchanged hands :) BTW...she needs a good haircut. Hopefully, we can go get her cut this weekend. I think she looks like a mini Chubacca (however you spell that!).

Maybe we are crazy, but we are happy and she has a good home now. Can you tell Andrew is smitten with her?
